Rough Red Quartz

Rough red quartz from Tanzania consists of compact small pieces and chips in red, reddish-brown and cherry-red shades. Thanks to the smaller size, this one-kilo pack is suitable for collectors, creative projects and various forms of grinding and polishing.

What is red quartz?

For this batch, the supplier uses several trade names, including cherry quartz, strawberry quartz, red quartz and red aventurine. We deliberately use the neutral Dutch name red quartz, because colour and appearance can vary within the batch.

Rough stones for collecting and stone-working

The pieces can be used as rough decorative or collector stones and for further processing. With a hardness of around 7 Mohs, quartz is suitable for grinding and barrel polishing. The smaller material can also be useful for filling spaces between larger stones in a batch.
